Coordinated by Christian de Portzamparc’s office (Pritzker architecture prize), Sky Avenue epitomises the project’s goal in terms of quality-of-life, mixed-use and urban innovation.
Surrounding an open block bordered by the Desaix residence, four contemporary buildings punctuate the public space with different shapes and heights. Such diversity on Sky Avenue is innovative. It has 210 new dwellings, one 5,150 m² office building and 3,000 m² of shops and services. By seeking to adapt to changes in lifestyles, Sky Avenue includes short stay business apartments, with 81 rooms available for travelling business people and a 550 m² day nurseries. Roof spaces for sport and relaxation add to the 4,500 m² public gardens in the centre of the block.
The many openings offer plenty of light as well as panoramic views of the urban landscape.
