Lyon Metropolis Habitat and Alliade Habitat set up an unusual partnership to finance the renovation of 280 dwellings in the Desaix Residence.
Built in 1962 by Jean Zumbrunnen and Jean-Baptiste Mathon, this iconic 1960s’ La Part-Dieu building was the subject of a new arrangement. Lyon Metropolis Habitat and Alliade Habitat jointly purchased this residence. The partial sale of a section of the plot to a property developer financed the renovation of the 280 dwellings. The result was a complete transformation of the block, with housing, a day nursery, offices and shops. The Residence was rejuvenated by enhancing the façades, the complete renovation of the common indoor and outdoor areas, the creation of shared storage areas and the improvement of thermal insulation. A 700 m² office programme on the ground floor of the residence concludes this project.
